Sensory Saturdays: Play • Learn • Connect Program

From Survival to Focus: Launching the Mama Money Series

This summer, Horizon Over the Spectrum, Inc. is proud to partner with the DeKalb County Public Library – Stonecrest Branch to launch Sensory Saturdays: Play • Learn • Connect Program, an inclusive summer program designed specifically for neurodivergent children and their families.

At Horizon Over the Spectrum, we understand the importance of creating spaces where children feel safe, supported, and free to explore the world around them at their own pace. Sensory Saturdays was created to provide meaningful opportunities for movement, creativity, emotional regulation, literacy, and family connection in a calm, welcoming environment.

Each session will feature hands-on, sensory-friendly activities intentionally designed to support:

● Fine motor development

● Social interaction and cooperative play

● Emotional regulation

● Creativity and self-expression

● Family engagement and community connection

Why Sensory-Friendly Programming Matters

Many families of neurodivergent children struggle to find community programs that truly accommodate sensory needs. Sensory Saturdays was intentionally designed with smaller group sizes and structured activities to reduce overwhelm and create a more comfortable experience for children and caregivers alike.

To maintain a calm, sensory-friendly environment, each session is limited to 20 participants.
